Details
An accompanying event of the 30th Kontakt International Theatre Festival.
Screening of The Teutonic Knights, directed by Aleksander Ford, 1960.
The film tells the story of Jurand of Spychów, who defends his lands against attacks by the Teutonic Knights. During a treacherous raid on Spychów by the Teutonic Knights from Szczytno, led by Commander Siegfried de Löwe, Jurand loses his wife. To protect his daughter Danusia from a similar fate, he sends her to the court of the Duke of Masovia.
There, Danusia meets Zbyszko of Bogdaniec, who pledges his knightly loyalty to her. Through a vile trick, the Teutonic Knights abduct her and lure Jurand into their hands. To save his beloved and her father, Zbyszko travels to Malbork to seek support from the Grand Master.
