Screening of The Promised Land, directed by Andrzej Wajda.
An adaptation of Władysław Reymont’s novel. An epic portrait of the conflicts of capitalist Łódź at the end of the 19th century, shown through the careers of three friends and industrialists: a Pole, a Jew and a German. By abandoning the ideals of their youth and accepting the ruthless rules of the fight for money, they build their fortune.
