Child Protection Standards at the Teatr im. Wilama Horzycy – simplified version for minors

Remember that:

  • You have the right to protection of your life and health.
  • You have the right to freedom of conscience, thought, and religion, as well as the right to personal development.
  • You have the right to respect and recognition from others.
  • You have the right to protection from physical and psychological violence and neglect. This means that beating, humiliation, psychological harm, abuse, and cruel or degrading treatment are unacceptable and punishable.
  • You have the right to protection from all forms of sexual exploitation. No one has the right to touch you in a way you do not want or to force or pressure you into sexual contact.
  • No one has the right to force you to consume alcohol, tobacco products, or drugs (including narcotics).
  • You have the right to protection of your image. No one may take your photo without your consent for private purposes. No one may publish your image online without your consent.
  • You have the right to seek help whenever you are being harmed.

While staying at the Theatre, we ask you to:

  • behave respectfully;
  • respect others, including your peers;
  • follow the applicable rules and regulations.

RULES FOR SAFE RELATIONS BETWEEN STAFF AND MINORS

General rules:

  1. Theatre staff ensure the safety of minors during their stay at the Theatre.
  2. Rules for safe relations with minors apply to all staff members.

Theatre staff:

  1. Do not break the law or applicable rules and treat everyone fairly. They do not discriminate on any grounds (origin, identity, age, gender, financial status, appearance, knowledge, or skills).
  2. Do not use power or physical advantage against minors (threats, coercion, intimidation).
  3. Do not use any form of physical, psychological, or sexual violence.
  4. Do not use language with sexual undertones or refer to sexual activity or attractiveness.
  5. Do not violate personal boundaries.
  6. Do not initiate inappropriate contact. Contact with minors should only occur for official purposes and via official communication channels.

RULES FOR SAFE RELATIONS BETWEEN MINORS AT THE THEATRE

  1. Minors have the right to stay in a safe environment.
  2. Minors must follow the rules and behavioural standards of the Theatre.
  3. Minors must respect the rights and personal freedoms of other peers.
  4. Minors must not use any form of physical or psychological aggression against others.
  5. Minors are obliged to oppose all forms of violence and report threats to staff.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU EXPERIENCE HARM

  1. If you do not feel safe or have experienced harm in or outside the Theatre, or if you are a victim of physical, psychological, or sexual violence, you can report it to a Theatre staff member and ask for help. They will inform the Theatre Director.
  2. If you witness violence, report it to a Theatre staff member.
  3. Staff will take action to clarify the situation, possibly involving your parents or legal guardians.
  4. Inform your parents or guardians about the situation.
  5. The Theatre will immediately take action to stop and eliminate harmful behaviour.
  6. If staff suspect you are experiencing harm, they are required to take protective action and may notify relevant institutions.
